Metatex (Pvt) Ltd, incorporated in 1964, originated as the pioneer's of Vacuum Metallising in the Sub-Continent.Being the market leaders in the Metallic yarn Industry for over a decade, Metatex further diversified its product line by offering packaging to the Food, Pharmaceutical, Confectionery and Cosmetic Industry in Pakistan.
Metatex is one of the few companies in South East Asia offering a complete package to its clientele, all under one roof.
- 1968 - Started commercial production of all kinds of metallised film for converters all over the world including the U.S. market.
- 1972 - Established a micro slitting unit to manufacture metallic yarn with Japanese collaboration. Between 1980 and 1990, Metatex was the largest Pakistani manufacturer / exporter of metallic yarn to European and African markets.

- Rotogravure Printing was started - Current Roto-Press strength stands
at 7 units.
- 1988
- Acquired Extrusion Coating Lamination and Dry Lamination plants.
- 1998
- Installed Bag Making Unit.
- 1999
- Established a Cylinder Engraving facility from Ohio and Daetwyler

- Started Solvent-less Lamination
- 1999
- Started Holography business with technology transfer from the U.S.
